Vtg Historical Society 1988 Stained Glass Christmas Plate The Adoration w/ Light
This is a rare opportunity to own the official 1988 United States Historical Society Christmas plate, titled "The Adoration," complete with its original porcelain enamel display light.
The centerpiece is a vibrant work of art adapted from the world-famous stained-glass windows of the Washington National Cathedral. Unlike standard ceramic plates, this piece is designed to be backlit, allowing the 17 layers of fired enamel to glow with the same brilliance as the original cathedral windows.
Features & Details:
- Artisanship: Crafted from genuine cathedral glass with a multi-layered enamel process. The colors are fired directly into the glass for lifelong brilliance.
- Pewter Frame: The center is held in a heavy, highly polished rim handcrafted by Jefferson Pewter.
- Display Light: Included is the original white porcelain enamel light shade/fixture. This was sold as a companion piece to illuminate the glass from behind, bringing the nativity scene to life.
