Taxus baccata Fastigiata Robusta

Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Robusta' is a little known conifer that deserves a place in most gardens. Our 20-year-old specimen has formed a 10' tall x 2' wide phallic exclamation point in the garden and, although it prefers full sun, our plant has grown its entire life in a shaded woodland. The short, dark green evergreen needles clothe the branches. Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Robusta' was discovered in the wild by Herman Zulauf of Switzerland, just prior to World War II.
