STAG'S LEAP WINE CELLARS KARIA CHARDONNAY 2023

A single bottle of 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars beat out First Growth Bordeaux at the 1976 Judgment of Paris — the event that put Napa Valley on the global map. Today, winemaker Marcus Notaro makes this sustainably farmed Karia Chardonnay from four cool southern Napa sites: Atlas Peak, Carneros, Arcadia, and Oak Knoll, where San Pablo Bay breezes and volcanic soils drive the mineral backbone. Whole-cluster pressed, fermented 96% in French oak with just 10% malolactic and seven months sur lie, it blends 98% Chardonnay with 2% Muscat Canelli for lifted floral detail. Ripe melon, peach, and honeysuckle carry into a bright citrus and hazelnut finish.
