Dual-Aspect Cameo

A composed figure is held inside an oval frame like a contemporary medallion, where a single face becomes two perspectives aligned in quiet balance. The central split reads as reflection and resolve—identity simplified into shape, posture, and stillness rather than detail.

The design is translated into powder coated metal through bold contour bands that carve forehead, nose, lips, and neckline from open negative space. The oval border is kept strong and architectural, while the split line is engineered as a crisp structural spine that sharpens the composition and intensifies the floating shadow effect.

Curator’s Note: Oval portrait framing echoes cameo and medallion traditions, where the boundary signals permanence and the subject is treated as an icon; modern line interpretations continue that legacy through reduction and symmetry.
