What is an Ollas Jamet BEE® bee drinker and what is it for?

Bee colony collapse is the result of a combination of several factors. These include climate and environmental changes, including pesticide use and agricultural practices, as well as the arrival of the Asian hornet and the Varroa parasite.

In addition, a lack of quality water, which is essential to the composition and development of hives, also contributes to this phenomenon.

Throughout their lives, bees need a significant amount of water. They use it to produce larvae food such as royal jelly and mush, as well as to make propolis, which protects them from parasites and diseases.

Water is also used to dilute the honey and regulate the temperature inside the hive.

The development of Ol-BEE Jamet® required 2 years of research and was carried out with beekeeping professionals who carried out the tests during the heatwave season of 2019(*), in real conditions and without any input other than water.
